In continuation of this office letter of even number dated 07-07-2009, on the above subject, I am enclosing a copy of the UGC Regulation on curbing the menace of ragging in Educational Institutes, 2009 published in the Gazette of India dated 4th July, 2009 in (i) English and (ii) Hindi विश्वविद्यालाय अनुदान आयॊग उच्चतर शिष्ण संस्थानॊं मॆं रॆगिंग निषॆध‌ सॆ सम्बन्धित विश्वविद्यालाय अनुदान आयॊग कॆ अधिनियम, 2009 for your information and necessary action

The above regulations are mandatory and shall apply to all Universities established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, a Provincial Act or a State/ Union Territory Act and all Institutes recognised by or affiliated to such Universities and all Institutions Deemed to be Universities under section (3) of the UGC Act, 1956 with effect from 4th July, 2009 i.e. the date of its Publication in the Official Gazette.

It is requesterd that these regulations may please be brouth to the notice of the Colleges affiliated to your University/ Institution.
