University Grants Commission's 417th meeting


In the 417th Commission Meeting of the UGC held on 24th June, 2004 at New Delhi, the following decisions were taken.

Subject:   Extension of Autonomous Status to the Colleges of Osmania University.

Sir,

This has reference to the recommendations of the University vide its letter No. 6525/7/92/CDC dated 22nd November 2000 and simultaneous concurrence given by the State Government vide its letter No. SP.5418/UE.1-1/2002-2 dated 30.10.2000, I am pleased to inform that Commission at its meeting held on 13th April, 2004, considered the reports of UGC Expert Committee which visited the six Colleges of Osmania University from 27th to 30th January, 2004. Based on the recommendation of the Expert Committee, the Commission has accorded its ex-post facto approval for extension of autonomous status to the following Colleges for the period mentioned against each as under:

3) RBVRR Women's College, HyderabadEx-post facto approval from 1998-99 to 2002-03 and extension from 2003-2004 to 2008-2009
4) Anwarul-Uloom College, HyderabadEx-post facto approval from 1998-99 to 2002-03 and extension from 2003-2004 to 2008-2009
5) St. Francis College for Women (Autonomous), Begumpet, Hyderabad)Ex-post facto approval from 1998-99 to 2002-03 and extension from 2003-2004 to 2008-2009
6) Loyola Academy, Alwal, Secunderabad)Ex-post facto approval from 1997-98 to 2001-02 and extension from 2002-2003 to 2007-2008.

The University may now go ahead and issue necessary order in this regard and a copy of the same be sent to this office for our records. It may please be noted that UGC shall reimburse only actual admissible expenditure, within the overall ceiling provided for in the guidelines, incurred by the college during the period for which approval to the grant of autonomy is now being conveyed. The admissible grant under the scheme will be released to the College by the Joint Secretary, Southern Regional Office, UGC, PB. No.152, A.P.S.F.C.
