Sub:Nomination under Indo-Hungarain Educational Exchange Programme during 2008-2009
Sir,
The University Grants Commission implements certain items of Educational Exchange Programmes entered into by the Government of India with foreign countries. These, inter alia, provide for visits of Indian teachers/scholars to these countries for a study-cum lecture, exchange of views, establishing contacts and training for various periods. The teachers nominated under this programme would be provided to and fro travel by the University Grants Commission and the maintenance in the foreign country would be provided by the host Government as per the provisions of the relevant Educational Exchange Programme. The nominated teacher would be required to be paid full salary and allowances for the duration of his/her visit abroad and may be treated as on duty as per University rules.
The relevant provisions and duration of the visit etc. are attached as Annexure-I.
The Commission would be grateful if the above information is brought to the notice of the teachers in the University and its affiliated colleges. Interested teacher may apply to the University along with their bio-data and work plan. The University may with the help of a Committee nominate, not more than three teachers/scholars for consideration of the Commission under the programme during 2008-2009 to the undersigned in the proforma attached (Annexure-II) latest by 14th March, 2008. The applications received directly from applicants, will not be considered by the Commission. The candidate may ensure that the application alongwith necessary enclosures be forwarded through the Vice Chancellor/ Registrar of a University and through the Executive Head in case of an Institution (with seal). The decision of the Commission will be final. The teachers who have availed of UGC/University assistance during the last three years need not apply.
