1. What are the eligibility criterions for
this scholarship?
Any single girl child of her parents. In a family if one son and one daughter is
available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.
The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in
regular, full-time 1st year Masters Degree course in any recognized university or
a post graduate college. This scholarship is available to PG-I year students only.

2. What is the last date of registration?
The last date of online submission is 3rd October, 2012.
3. How can i submit the form?
first you have to log on here then click
on "Apply Now" button, then click on "Click here for New Registration.!!" link.
If you are already registered candidate, you can check your status by entering your
registration ID and date of birth.
4. What documents required while applying online?
Required Documents:-
1. The candidate is required to submit an application in prescribed format online.
2. An affidavit on Rs. 50/ Stamp paper, from the student/parent duly
attested by SDM/First Class Magistrate/Gazatted Officer download prescribe format
form from here
scan it and convert in .pdf format and upload it under the "Personal Information"
tab of online application.
3. A Joining report from College/University where student have taken admission
to 1st year PG course download prescribe format form from
here scan it and convert in .pdf format and upload it under the "Qualification
Information" tab of online application.
5. How can i submit the affidavit form ?
First you have to download the prescribed form regarding Affidavit format for SGC
from here and
Affidavit format for institute joining report from
here and then scan & upload the copy of affidavit forms under the "Personal
Information" "Qualification Information" tab of online application.
6. Should i have to send the original affidavit
form to UGC?
No, retain the original affidavit form with you for further stage of selection.
7. Should i also have to submit the hard
copy of the document to UGC?
No, you have to apply online no other mode of submission (form/document) will be
entertain by us.
8. I am not able to upload the document what
to do?
Please check the following :-
=> Check your internet connectivity and delete the session and cookies from your
internet browser.
=> You may use another browser.
=> Check the format of the document it should be only in .jpeg,.jpg,.pdf.
=> Check the size of the document it should not be more than 2 MB.
9. What is the maximum age limit to fill
the form?
30 years.
10. My admission year is 2011, am I eligible
for this scholarship?
No, this scholarship is only for the student of academic year from 2012 to 2014.
11. I am an MBA/M.TECH/professional courses
student am I eligible for this scholarship?
No. Only student from non-professional courses of PG 1st year can apply because
the objective of this scheme is to support post graduate education of single girl
child in non-professional courses only.
12. I am from an open university/distance
learning student am I eligible for this scholarship?
No, this scheme is only for regular students from a recognized Indian University
covered under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act.
13. What is the amount of scholarship?
The value of Scholarship amount is Rs.2,000/- p.m for a period of (10 months
in the year) for two years only i.e. full duration of a PG course.
14. I have already applied for academic
year 2011 to 2013, can i apply again?
No, this scholarship is only for the student of academic year from 2012 to 2014.
