Other Details: The University has 124 Independent teaching departments, many of them recognized as centers of excellence, 14 Faculties, one college-Mahila Mahavidyalaya and 3 Institutes- Institute of Technology, Institute of Medical Sciences and Institute of Agricultural Sciences. There are 6 centres of Advanced Studies one each in the department of Botany, Zoology, Metallurgy, Electronics, Physics and Mining. There are 8 FIST Programmes one each in the department of Zoology, Physics, Metallurgy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering and School of Materials Science & Technology. There are 8 Special Assistance Programmes one each in the department of Chemical, Ceramics Engineering, Chemistry, Geology, Philosophy, Mathematics, Biotechnology and Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology. The University has 4 inter disciplinary Schools- School of Materials Science, School of Biomedical Engineering, School of Biochemical Engineering and School of Biotechnology.

Infrastructure Facilities: The University is spread over an area of 15 sq. Kilometers and has majestic buildings of monumental architectural design, a sprawling campus and lush green fields. The University has well equipped classrooms, Play Grounds, Hostels & International Hostels for boys and girls, Town Area Committee, University works departments, Hospital & Health Centres, Telecommunication setup, Modern computer network system, a museum of Art and Culture of international repute – Bharat Kala Bhavan, a Central Library, apart from Academic Departments spanning the entire range of Educational Programmes from Ayurveda to Zoology.

Programs Offered: MBBS, BAMS, B.Com., M.Com., Indian Philosophy & Religion, Ph.D. programmes in many of Arts, Humanities, Science, Engineering and Technology and Medicine Study India Program are offered at present.
