Location Details: Bharathiar University is located at Coimbarore, in the State of Tamil Nadu, South India.

Recognition: a) Accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ Grade. b) First University in India to establish a jointly sponsored IT R&D Park with Electronics Corporoation of Tamil Nadu (ELCOT) known as BU – ELCOT CITY. c) An unique academic and research collaboration through a signed MOU with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), New Delhi. d) First University to offer courses in Web services, bioinformatics and medical physics. e) shortly will realize the establishment of a Centre for Environmental Science sponsored by DRDO.

Infrastructure Facilities: The University has academic and research infrastructural facilities comparable with the standards available in advanced western universities. – A separate internet center is functioning for the use by scholars and students with unlimited access time internet connectivity with faculty members and the computer lab of the departments – The University library system is computerized and through wire-free technology the resources can be accessed. The library is a member of the UGC INFLIBNET consortium - In addition to equipments installed in the departmenrs the University has a Common University Instrumentation and Equipments Centre (CUIEC) – Four academic departments are recognized under SAP by the UGC and two departments under FIST by DST. – With an unique MOU signed with DRDO, research projects with an outlay of around Rs. 137.05 lakh are in various stages of implementation / completion.
