Location Details: The campus is situated at Thenhipalam in Malappuram Dist., 25km South of Calicut city (Kozhikode). There are two satellite campuses at Vadakara, 70 km north of the main campus and at Thrissur, about 104 km south of the campus. There are 28 departments of Teaching and Research at the University Campuses. There are 178 colleges affiliated to the University spread over 5 districts, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad and Thrissur.

Recognition: Established by Ordinance no. 5/68 of Govt of Kerala which are subsequently replaced by Calicut University Act 1975 recognized by UGC.

Other Details: The University Campuses are well connected by roads; The Calicut International Airport is 8km close to the main campus where there are several flights to the middle east and to the main cities of India. The Railway stations are also in close proximity to the University. The entire networks of colleges are well connected by road.

Infrastructure Facilities: Qualified teachers, well equipped laboratories, Computer facilities, Internet facilities, Central Library with about 1 lakh volumes and specialized Departmental libraries with free access.

Other Ameneties: Separate residential hostels for boys and girls, well equipped health center, Sports facilities.

Co-curricular Activities: Sports, Games, Cultural activities, Theatre activities, social services. Non-professional under graduate courses are social service activities as an integral part of the programme.
