Recognition: The University of Delhi was incorporated as a unitary, teaching and residential university by an Act of the Central Legislature in 1922. Delhi University is a Central University having 66 affiliated colleges. The university has acquired international fame through its teaching, research and collaborative programmes with research organizations and industries.

Other Details: The University is having non-collegiate to Women Education Board which admits women students residing within the territorial jurisdiction for various UG and PG courses in languages and humanities and social sciences. The university is also admitting students by offering correspondence courses.
