Recognition: Awarded four star status by the National Assessment and Accredation Council (NAAC) UGC has identified the University as one of the potential universities for Promotion of Higher Education Abroad (PIHEAD).

Other Details: Established in 1980, complete 14 years successfully in serving the cause of higher education. About 2000 students take admission to the P.G courses every year and 191 teachers are serving in various departments The university is offering M.Phil. and Ph.D programmes in all the departments.

Infrastructure Facilities: The university has international standard infrastructure for postgraduate teaching and research as evident by its recognition by way of UGC’s SAP assistance, DST’s FIST funding and ISRO’s support for Remoting Sensing and GIS facilities for some of the departments of excellence besides research projects sponsored by several funding agencies like UGC, DST, DBT, CSIR, AICTE, MoEF, ZP etc. UGC sponsored University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) provide central instrumentation facilities for science departments.
