Location Details: Janna Sahyadri, the main campus of Kuvempu University is located at Shankarghatta at a distance of 28km from the main city Shimoga.

Recognition: 1. Recognised by the UGC. 2. Awarded 3 star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

Infrastructure Facilities: The University has good infrastructure for postgraduate teaching and research programmes. The University is named after well-known national poet Kuvempu. During the centenary year (Dec. 2003- Dec.2004) of Kvempu, additional infrastructures such as Bio-Sciences Block, Computer Science Block, Centenary Building, Indoor and Outdoor Stadiums are built.

Other ameneties: Internet, Facility, Laboratories for Studies and Research in Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Applied Botany, Applied Zoology, Applied Geology, Biotechnology, Language Learning, Tissue Culture, Aqua Culture and Water Management, Bio-Chemistry and Microbiology, Indoor and Outdoor stadium, Hostels for Boys an Girls. The University has a constituent Engineering College at Davangere which provides facilities for graduate and P.G. studies in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer and Instrumentation Engineering. The University has also a constituent college of Fine Arts in Davangere, which runs UG and PG courses in Fine Arts.

Co-curricular Activities: NSS unit of this University has been rated as one of the best I Karnataka State. Sports, University Students festivals, Job Oriented Training Programmes etc. The University has a Centre for continuing Education and Extension activities.
