Location Details: The Institute is situated at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (S.A.S. Nagar/Mohali) adjoining Chandigarh. The Institute campus is well connected to Delhi through rail, bus, and air.

Recognition: The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) has beem created as a center for excellence for higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences and is the first institute of its kind in the country. Government of India through an Act of Parliament has declared the institute as an Institute of National importance in 1998.

Other Details: The Institution provides residential facilities to all students and the teaching staff. The medicinal plants garden on 25 acres of land has been set up which partly serve as a referral garden for medicinal plants of the region.

Infrastructure Facilities: The academic campus includes various teaching and research blocks, a computer center, a library, a bioavailability center, an impurity profiling and stability testing center and central instrumentation laboratory, an animal house and a pilot plant. An auditorium with a seating capacity of four hundred and a convention center with a number of conference rooms and seminar halls are recent additons.

Other ameneties: Fully air-conditioned Auditorium, Seminar Halls, Convention center with audio-visual facilities. Separate Hostel facilities are available boys and girls with furniture. A committee of students runs the mess on rotation basis. Limited hostel accommodation for married students is also available.

Student Support Services: The Institute has training and placement cell which facilitate the employment opportunity of the students.
