Other Details: Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (Deemed Univiersity) has its inception in the year 1985 as a private not-for-profit self-financing institution and it was dedicated to serve the society as a centre of excellence with emphasis on medical education, research and health care. In view of its academic excellence, the Government of India granted the status of Deemed University to Sri Ramachandra Medical Coolege and research Institute in September, 1994. The Deemed University has been established by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust.

Infrastructure Facilities: Sri Ramachandra Medical Centra is a Major referral tertiary care centre in South India and has 1540 beds at present out of which 750 beds are earmarked for free service to the poor and needy patients. Twenty five operation theatres and 114 designated Intensive and Critical Care beds earmarked for different specialities make this a tertiary centre for several hundred villages and a good section of the city.

Other Amenities : Several recreational facilities in terms of Gymasium, Tennis Courts, Basket ball rinks, Cricket field, foot ball court etc. have been created.

Co-curriculur Activities: There are various clubs that the students are encouraged to take part in as well as excellence sports facilities for the more physically inclined.

Student Support Services: SRMC has provided student counseling facilities to help students from diverse belonging to adjust to the changes and also seek help when they have social, personal, academic or career oriented difficulties. International Students co-ordinator and Faculty in-charge for International Students render special service to overseas students.
