Other Ameneties: The university of Rajasthan is the oldest institution of higher learning in Rajasthan. It was established on 8 January, 1947 as University of Rajputana and renamed as University of Rajasthan in the year 1956. Presently, the University has 37 Teaching Departments, 6 Constituent Colleges, 10 recognised Research and Extension Institute / Centres. It has 305 affiliated colleges including 19 Law, 24 Medical (including Pharmacy), 34 Engineering & Technology, 20 Education, and 10 Management Colleges.

Infrastructure Facilities : The University has internationally comparable infrastructure for Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and doctoral research at 37 postgraduate Departments and 10 Research Centres. In addition, it has academic Staff College (ASC), (Workshop) Well furnished Guest House Printing Press, Community Centre, Health Centre, Swimming Pool, Hostels (9 for Boys and 7 for Girls,) Non-Resident Students Centre (NRSC) and modern sports facilities.
