| Technology Description: |
Potential genes are being identified to generate proteins from these genes that could be of diagnostic and prophylactic significance. The organisms that are experimented on are the filarial parasite W.bancrofti, that causes lymphatic filariasis, white spot syndrome viruses (WSSV) causing viral disease in shrimps and canine distemper virus (CDV) infecting dogs. These proteins will be used for functional studies to understand the pathogenesis of various diseases. The application areas are diagnostics, prophylaxis (Biotechnology). |
