Technology Description: An efficient eco-friendly method for epoxidation of alkenes has been studied using biotransformations by bacillus subtilus. Geraniol undergoes, epoxidation followed by hydroxylation to give a triol with bacillus subtilus in two days. Further incubation of four days yields 5-methylhex-4-en-2-one.The application of this development is in chemical industries. The competitive advantages of the product are: (i) High efficient (ii) Eco-friendly procedure.
