Enhanced production of secondary metabolites and their downregulation using transformed plants was observed The application areas are propagation of elite plants by farmers / biotech industries, pharmaceutical industry dealing with plant propagation. The competitive advantages are: (i) Enhanced production of secondary metabolites (ii) Nonvarying population of elite plants can be maintained.
